Hello everyone, this is BLU writting on behalf of Longshanks.He has lost his close little pal Joey today, so I am writting for him.Longshanks was all alone about 10 years ago, living in a big stately home by Stoke on Trent.He chose to get himself a companion, so on his birthday in 1996 he went and got Joey and Percy, they were friends that came as a pair.Joey was the "personality" of the two, as he was more people friendly, Percy had been an aviery bird, so he was shy and stand offish.Joey would ride about on Longshanks shoulder everywhere throughout the house, and nibble at his silver chain.Joey was so kind and curious, never afraid to check something out. Joey would sing his songs and do little chuck chuck noises, and even throw out a wolf whistle or two! One time when Longshanks had moved back home to Westgate, Joey escaped out of his cage and out of the house! It was winter and being in the countryside, there were many things for a small bird to fear out there. Longshanks found Joey up a very large tree in the woods, and kept vigil by him all night long, waking Joey every half hour by shining a flashlight at him and calling to him, to keep him from freezing to death.By the morning time Joey had had enough of the crows and the cold, and all he wanted was his nice safe cage back.Longshanks coaxed him out of the tree with some seed, and from that time on Joey had no interrest in leaving the safety of home.I met Joey in 2001, on my first visit to Longshanks, before we were married. Joey was quite a funny guy, he had wings to fly but would peg along on the floor , checking out the bird in the mirror, and being followed by Dougal , the 14 year old Yorkie dog.Yes, Joey will be greatly missed by all, esspecially Longshanks and Percy.Percy isn't quite sure what to make of his friend being gone, and he had to watch his friend drop off the perch, infact Percy is the reason I found out Joey had passed, as he began singing a very desperate sounding song I had never heard from either of them before, so I stopped what I was doing and then found Percy on the lowest perch leaned over his dear friend. Longshanks and Blu...I'm so sorry to hear about another loss for you both. What a wonderful tribute to him.

Oh I am so sorry Longshanks and Blu. You have had more than your share of heartache, especially this year. I wish you all the happiness in the world. You both deserve it more than anyone right now! Take care and I will be thinking of you.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I know he is probably chirping down at you take care.

Poor old Joey - but I'm sure he had a very happy life with the two of you (and with Percy)

Haven't been around in a while and was saddened to read your touching memorial to Joey. Take care of Percy. He needs you now.

Sorry this is late but I wanted to say I was sorry to read this. I was once close to one of these little guys for a few years myself and he was part of the family until my baby daughter opened our front door and he flew away. I was heartbroken and have never really felt attached to another pet since...when they go it hurts too much. Thinking of you both
